About Allied Gardens
Allied Gardens is a suburban neighborhood of San Diego about a 23-minute drive from San Diego's downtown core. The neighborhood of San Carlos can be found to the east of Allied Gardens and Del Cerro is on the north. San Diego State University is just southeast of the neighborhood and the Mission Trails Regional Park is to the northeast.
Allied Gardens is known for its many community activities, great schools, family-friendly safe atmosphere, several beautiful parks, and amazing community sports programs.

Public Schools in Allied Gardens are part of the San Diego Unified School District. Specific schools located in Allied Gardens include Foster Elementary School, Marvin Elementary School, and Lewis Middle School. High School aged students living within Allied Gardens attend the Patrick Henry High School just outside the neighborhood limits on Wandermere Avenue.

Allied Gardens Recreation Center
The center was built in 1961 and sits right next to the middle school in the community park. It is host to a number of low-cost and no-cost programs from classes, to clubs, to sports teams for community members of all ages. It is a great place to get involved in your community and get to know new neighbors.
This is a community pool also located in the Allied Gardens community park near the middle school and the rec center.
One of the largest urban parks in the country with over 8,000 acres of natural terrain. It is home to an extensive system of trails and a large visitor center. Lake Murray is also located in the park offering even more water recreation in San Diego.
A small community park that is a portion of the much larger Mission Trails Park. This park is tucked away between a residential housing community and the reservoir and the larger regional park. Locals love to walk and bike the paved trails, bring kids to play on the playground, or come and enjoy community festivals and other events.
If you are an avid day hiker this area offers a quieter system of trails in the area less crowded than the nearby Mission Trails Regional Park. There are homes nearby that benefit from being within a short distance for the ability to get out on the trails daily if wanted. Bikes are allowed on the trails as well.
